Morrie Enders
Kalamazoo, Michigan

Morrie Enders photo

Morrie Enders is a dedicated, hard-working and infectiously enthusiastic advocate. He is the Artistic Director of Kalamazoo Civic Theatre in Michigan, where his artistic talent and success as a team builder is evidenced by standing room only, critically acclaimed, and commercially successful projects.

Morrie served as Artistic/Managing Director of La Crosse Community Theatre (LCCT) in Wisconsin for 18 years. During his tenure there, Morrie directed over 90 plays and led LCCT to receive numerous awards at the state, regional, and national levels of AACTFest. His production of Cotton Patch Gospel placed third in the national AACTFest ’97 and was performed in Heidelberg, Germany as the showcase performance for the AACT Region X Festival. The Fantasticks represented the United States at the first Yakumo International Theatre Festival in Japan, receiving the People’s Choice Award.

Morrie has presented workshops on directing, musical theatre direction, and media relations (the infamously titled “Confessions of a Media Slut”), and he has facilitated AACT’s Community Theatre Management Conference. As an adjudicator, Morrie has worked on the state and regional levels. He served six years on the AACT board of directors as Region III Representative and Vice President for Membership and continues to serve on the Membership Committee. He was instrumental in planning and negotiating the "Act Locally, AACT Nationally" program. Morrie is also a musical theatre recording collector and sometime-New York City tour guide.
