Using our exclusive member-updated online database, AACT members can pull together detailed information about theatre companies around the U.S., to provide answers to important questions that affect you every day:

  • How do we locate theatres of a similar size and/or budget, so we can compare notes?
  • Who selects seasons--and how?
  • What size boards do other companies have?  How long are board members' terms, and what are their responsibilities?
  • Who does fundraising--and how?
  • What shows are other companies doing, and which ones have been successful?
  • What are the common duties, pay, and benefits of a chief administrator?
  • What other paid positions are common in theatre companies? What are the requirements, and how much do they pay?
  • What performance-space configurations and sizes are the most common?
  • How much do companies charge for individual or season tickets?
  • What box office software programs are being used?
  • Which theatres offer tickets online?
  • How do I find out who's done a particular show, so I can ask how they handled casting or a technical issue?
  • AACT-member playwrights now list their works online, including synopsis, genre, number of acts, total characters, gender and age breakdown, set requirements, performance history, licensing, and contact information.
  • And more!

Are you part of AACTivity? Here's how to join

  • You must be an organizational member of AACT, or a member-playwright.

  • Only one account can be established per membership number.

  • Once your account is created--normally within one working day--log on and enter your company's information. Then check out what others are doing, as well.  We think you'll be surprised--and enlightened.

  • You or someone from your company must return at least yearly to update your information, as well. After all, a database is only useful if the information is comprehensive, accurate, and up to date. And the success of AACTivity depends on the breadth and depth of the information garnered from our member companies.

  • To request an AACTivity account, you must first be logged into the members-only website (password required).
